Skincandescent Soap Bar

Ingredients: 

Calendula flowers: Calendula possesses anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic and anti-viral properties, It is an all around great flower and I infuse it in olive oil to retain the soothing properties of the flower.

Coconut oil: Bacteria is a leading cause of acne. Packed with anti-microbial agents, coconut oil assures that there is a protective layer on your skin that bacteria can not grow in. It is also an anti-inflammatory which helps calm the redness and swelling from a breakout.

Grapeseed oil: A wonderful anti-oxidant (nutrients and enzymes which prevent and repair damage to skin), astringent (tightens pores), and moisturizer. It also stimulates skin regeneration and may help to reduce fine lines.

Olive oil: A strong anti-oxidant and moisturizer (acne heals faster and leaves less scarring if skin is moist instead of dry) as well as an anti-bacterial.

Sustainably Sourced Palm Kernel Oil: This one is a wonderful emollient (softens and soothes skin) and moisturizer.

Shea Butter: With its high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins, shea butter is an ideal ingredient for softening skin. It also is said to have anti-inflammatory and healing properties.

Lye: This is what your great-grandmother used to make soap before she could buy a bar in the store. I don't just "melt and pour" my soap from pre-packaged materials. I start with 100% food grade lye and mix it with choice oils to produce soap the old-fashioned and healthy way.

Tussah Silk: Yes, silk! This cruelty-free product adds a luxurious feel to the bar.

French Green Clay: This is one of nature's strongest antiseptics. It also works as an anti- inflammatory to shrink the swelling caused by blemishes and helps skin cells heal. Finally, it is great at drawing out excess oils from your skin.

Tea Tree Pure Essential Oil: This incredible liquid is said to be a strong anti-bacterial agent. It is said to penetrate the blockage between your skin and the affected sebaceous gland and kill the bacteria causing the blackhead or whitehead. I use a liberal amount in this bar. It smells slightly anti-septic but that strong scent means healthy skin! (the scent does not linger on your skin but the healing properties do!) It is also known an anti-fungal agent and an anti-inflammatory.

Lavender Pure Essential Oil: Antibacterial and anti-inflamatory properties make this essential oil a great acne fighter. Plus its heavenly smell balances out the tea tree a little bit.

Helichrysum Pure Essential Oil: This powerhouse essential oil has been used for years in Europe for healing skin and relieving itching. Research is uncovering its special properties that make it an excellent antioxidant, an antibacterial, an anti-fungal, and an anti-inflammatory
